Bribers end in police net after failed corruption attempt

KATHMANDU, Oct 13: Police have arrested two people who tried to bribe a police patrol team at Kadaghari at 1:15 PM yesterday.

KATHMANDU, Oct 13: Police have arrested two people who tried to bribe a police patrol team at Kadaghari at 1:15 PM yesterday. The duty officers had stopped a tipper, Ba 5 Kha 4452 carrying sand for a security check. During the check, the driver and his assistant had tried to bribe the police personnel with a total of Rs. 700.

Those arrested are Binod Shrestha, 22 of Ramechhap and driver Bhesh Kumar Shrestha, 33. Police have kept the truck in custody and handed over the truck's drivers to Metropolitan Police Division, Baneshwor for further investigation. The do have been charged for public offence.  


Binod had lured the police for Rs. 200 while Bhesh had done so with Rs. 500.
