Budhanilkantha Annual Sports Day concludes

KATHMANDU, Jan 5: The Annual Sports Day of Budhanilkantha School (BNKS) has been concluded on Saturday. 


The competition started last week with the pentathlon and triathlon followed by the track and field meet, which was held from December 22 to 27. The students were divided into four divisions-- A, B, C, D and E-- according to their age, height and weight. Some of the final events of the track and field meet, along with other programs held on the final day.

The March past was displayed and led by the Council of prefects and school captain. Track and field events, and demonstrations (gymnastics, karate, pyramid building, basketball and football) along with mass drill were also displayed along. The chief guest of the program was Nepal Sports Council Member Secretary Ramesh Kumar Silwal awarded with certificates and medals by the guest. 


The school also started a new trend of awarding national players who have contributed in the national sports. The school started this with awarding three gold medalist of track event of 2019 South Asian Games (SAG) held in Kathmandu. 10,000 meters race winner Santoshi Shrestha, 5,000 meters winner Gopi Chandra Parki and marathon champion Kiran Bogati were rewarded.
