Govt appoints four members to NPC

KATHMANDU, March 21: The government has appointed four individuals as members of the National Planning Commission (NPC).

KATHMANDU, March 21: The government has appointed four individuals as members of the National Planning Commission (NPC).


According to government spokesperson Rekha Sharma, a meeting of the Cabinet held on Thursday decided to appoint Sangeeta Singh from Kathmandu, Kusendra Bahadur Mahat from Jumla, Shivaraj Adhikari from Palpa, and Aranico Panday from Lalitpur as members of the NPC.

Adhikari currently holds the position of Head of the Central Department of Economics at Tribhuvan University, while Singh is an urban development expert.


Pandey, in addition to his role as a member of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), also brings expertise in climate-related matters.


Mahat and Adhikari have close affiliations with the CPN-UML, whereas Pandey is associated with the RSP.
