Cabinet meeting begins, discussion on election date
The government is preparing to hold the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections on November 20. A meeting of the ruling parties held on Wednesday afternoon recommended Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to hold elections on November 20.
However, the Election Commission (EC) suggested the government hold elections on November 18. Stating that if there are 120 days to prepare for the election, it will be easier to work on the logistics, officials at the EC said. The election can be held within 90 days after the announcement of the date.
