KATHMANDU, August 1: It has not been decided whether the Cabinet meeting scheduled for today will be held.
Although the Council of Ministers meets every Monday and Thursday, the time for today’s meeting was not fixed until late this afternoon, making the announcement of the dates for the federal and provincial elections uncertain. Today's Cabinet meeting was expected to set the date for the upcoming parliamentary and provincial elections.

The Election Commission has already suggested an election date to the government. But the government has delayed endorsing the EC’s suggestion or setting another date for the crucial elections, making the holding of the elections in November, as suggested by the Election Commission, uncertain.
