Cabinet meeting underway, to extend lockdown at least for another week

KATHMANDU, May 6: A Cabinet meeting is currently underway at the Prime Minister's Official Residence in Baluwatar.


The meeting is expected to extend the ongoing lockdown at least for another week. Earlier on Tuesday evening, the high-level government committee formed to prevent and contain the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) recommended to the Cabinet to continue the ongoing lockdown keeping in mind the rising coronavirus cases.

The nationwide lockdown that was first enforced on March 24 is coming to an end on Thursday, May 7. As of now, the country has 82 COVID-19 cases with 22 recoveries.
