Canada based Nepali Mitra Kafle awarded with Citizens Award by Canadian govt

KATHMANDU, June 27: Mitra Kafle, a Canadian citizen with Nepali origin, has been honored with the Brampton Citizens Award by the Canadian government for his role in helping the community during COVID-19.

KATHMANDU, June 27: Mitra Kafle, a Canadian citizen with Nepali origin, has been honored with the Brampton Citizens Award by the Canadian government for his role in helping the community during COVID-19.


Kafle serves as a board member of the Brampton Residents Association Council (BRAC) and coordinates with all three local, provincial and federal governments of Canada. Mayor of Brampton, Patrick Brown presented the award to Kafle amidst a special program held recently.

Kafle is one of the founders of Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Canada, former vice president of the Association of Nepalese in the Americas US/ Canada and the founding president of GTA East-west Community Services Inc.
