The District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha, said Canadian national Peter Gray, who had fallen ill, was rescued by a Kailash Air helicopter on Friday with the help of locals and police. He was subsequently transported to Kathmandu for treatment, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dhanshyam Shrestha.

Daniel arrived in Bhotokhola just a day before in the course of his expedition to Mount Makalu, the world's fifth highest peak. At the time of the report, it is yet to be confirmed whether he was accompanied by other member(s) for the expedition, police said.
