BARDIYA, Nov 12: An injured tiger has been captured from Bardiya's Thakurbaba Municipality-2 in Karmala within the Bardia National Park area. A female tiger in a sick and dying condition was rescued for care and treatment.

Badri Binod Dahal, Assistant Conservation Officer of Bardiya National Park, mentioned that the female tiger, which was crawling, was captured with a dart. The female tiger, aged 13/14 years, was initially identified by an automatic camera during the 2013 tiger census.

Officer Dahal said that the tiger, discovered in critical condition and named Parewa Odar (Pigeon’s den), has been temporarily placed in a cage within Bardiya National Park due to the lack of a suitable facility. Among the tigers captured by the park at various times, five are housed in Rambhapur, and three are in cages within the Bardiya National Park.

The lack of an appropriate space for captured tigers poses a challenge in Bardiya.
