Candidacy filing begins at 10 am in three provinces: EC

KATHMANDU, May 2: Issuing a press release today, the Election Commission(EC) has stated that candidacy filing began in the 34 offices of Chief Returning Officers and Returning Officers at 10 am today.

KATHMANDU, May 2: Issuing a press release today, the Election Commission(EC) has stated that candidacy filing began in the 34 offices of Chief Returning Officers and Returning Officers at 10 am today.

The EC has also stated that candidates belonging to marginalized groups such as the poor, Dalits, women etc. have been granted a waiver of 50 percent of the total charge to be paid while filing candidacy.


The Election Act requires that fifty percent of the total number of chiefs and deputy chiefs of the local bodies be women and forty percent of the total number of chiefs and deputy chiefs of the wards under these bodies
