Withdraw, otherwise you will be expelled: Ruling coalition warns rebel candidates

KATHMANDU, Oct 11: A meeting of the ruling alliance has warned of taking action against those filing candidacy against the consent of their respective party. 


The decision was made by the meeting of ruling parties held at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday afternoon.

In the meeting, the ruling parties decided to expel those candidates from the party if they do not withdraw their nominations within the time set by the Election Commission. The EC has set the deadline of 1 PM Wednesday to withdraw candidacies.


According to the agreement, the members who submitted nominations against the official candidates presented by Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), CPM (Unified Socialist) and Rastriya Janamorcha Party have been instructed to withdraw their nominations within the deadline.


Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal and Rashtriya Janamorcha Party Chairman Chitra Bahadur KC were present in the meeting.
