POKHARA, Oct 12: Canyoning activities in Pokhara that were suspended since the nationwide lockdown in March have resumed after a hiatus of seven months.

Ram Gurung of Pokhara Canyoning in Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality-9 in Kaski district said all the health safety measures were put in place to reoperate the sport in Pokhara. He hopes that it will help revive the adventurous tourism in the city that is emerging as a hub for adventure sports.

“There is no alternative to slowly going back to the new normal. We should not live under fear and bring everything into a standstill. Instead, we should observe all the precautions and move ahead,” said Gurung.

Domestic tourists who want to canoe would be ensured a safe environment, assured Gurung.

Canyoning came into operation in Pokhara in 2014. The 75-metre and 45-metre waterfall at Lwang Ghale -- some 22 kilometres away from Pokhara-- is the perfect place for canyoning.
