The Gorkha Samaj demanded a stringent action against the Flipkart, saying that it intentionally demeaned Nepalis on the ground of ethnicity.

“Nepali people are presented as sentries wearing Bhadgaunle caps in most of the Hindi films. It gives the message that all Nepalis are sentries.  Does it mean that all Nepali people wearing Bhadgaule caps are sentries?

Dinesh Sharma, a member of the Gorkha Youth and Students Union, said, “The advertisement has humiliated the entire Nepalis as it has used a Nepali minor  wearing a Bhadgaunle cap as a sentry in it. Couldn’t they present a Shikh wearing a headband, which bears their identity, in the advertisement? The advertisement has insulted the Nepalis on the ground of ethnicity.
