KATHMANDU, Oct 20: Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhee Prasad Yadav has said full support and cooperation from every quarter was expected in regard to the poll-related activities so as to make such historic events successful.
In his message of best wishes on the occasion of the Nepal Sambat 1138, Tihar and Chhath festivals today, the CEC said, "The EC appeals to all political parties and would-be candidates to fully abide by the election code of conduct while registering nominations and running the election publicity campaign."

He urged political parties to bear in mind the spirit of the principles of proportional and inclusive representation while choosing candidates for the nearing elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies.
There is the schedule for registering candidacies (towards the first-past-the-post system) for the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies is on October 22. This election is going to be held in 32 districts in the first phase on November 26.
"With the successful completion of local level elections in the all 77 districts of the seven provinces as per the new federal setup, the base for democracy has further consolidated. Now the time has come to successfully conclude both elections so as build a sound and prosperous federal democratic republic," the CEC stated in the message. He, on behalf of the EC, wished for good health, happiness, peace and prosperity to all (voters) on the occasion of the Nepal Sambat, Tihar and Chhath. RSS
