Sandesh Paudel, the party's in-charge of Janakpur Bureau, accused the NOC of embezzling Rs 210 million while purchasing land in Lalbandi Municipality-1 of Sarlahi for building an oil storage depot. “Our party conducted a small investigation into the whole controversy and found that the state had to bear a great financial loss due to NOC's land scam,” Paudel said. Not just that, the party has claimed the involvement of political leaders, contractors and officials of Land Revenue Office in the embezzlement.
The party has warned of taking to streets if the authorities concerned do not take action against the culprits in few days. As mentioned in the land procurement documents, NOC had bought a total of 49 plots for Rs. 9, 62000 per plot. However, the land brokers claim that they have received not more than Rs 2, 74000 per plot.
A few days ago, a parliamentary committee had inspected the land and had also interacted with the stakeholders.
