CIAA arrests two govt employees for alleged bribery in Sunsari

ITAHARI, Oct 1: In a recent operation, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) apprehended two government employees of the Land Reform and Land Revenue Office in Inaruwa, Sunsari, on the charge of bribery. The incident occurred on Friday.

The CIAA team took into custody Nayab Subba (a non-gazetted first-class employee) Sudeep Katuwal and Kharidar (a non-gazetted second class employee) Ramesh Adhikari, both working in the Registration Branch of the office in Itahari. According to the CIAA office in Itahari, Katuwal and Adhikari were arrested from Sunsari Hotel, located in front of the Land Revenue Office, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 150,000 from a service-seeker in exchange for facilitating land registration.
