The charges concern irregularities in the construction of the Janata Secondary Building in Simraungadh Municipality-8, specifically within the schemes managed by the Madhesh Provincial government. The CIAA initiated an investigation after receiving information regarding irregularities in the Janata Secondary Building project.
In the course of the investigation, it was discovered that CAO Marasani and Accountant Sarmendra Prasad Chaudhary had disbursed payments exceeding the amounts specified in the evaluation and payment documents approved by the technician. The CIAA alleges that this resulted in a loss of government funds amounting to Rs 658,440.
Additionally, the CIAA has found that Janata Secondary Building Committee Chairman Yadav, Secretary Prasad, and Treasurer Yadav managed the consumer committee's bank account and received payments exceeding the agreed-upon amounts without adhering to the terms of the agreement with the municipality.
As a result of these findings, the CIAA has called for legal action against the accused individuals, including imprisonment on charges of embezzlement of government funds, corruption, and accepting unauthorized compensation.
