CIAA files corruption case against LRO employees

KATHMANDU, April 12: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case against four former employees of the Land Revenue Office (LRO), Parsa, on corruption charges.

KATHMANDU, April 12: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case against four former employees of the Land Revenue Office (LRO), Parsa, on corruption charges.


The CIAA has registered a case against LRO chief Prakash Prasad Pokharel, Gum Bahadur Bishwakarma, Non-Gazetted first class officer Madan Prasad Gupta and Accountant Nagendra Prasad Chaudhary in the fiscal year 2072/73.

There is an allegation against office chief Pokharel that he embezzled Rs 9.366 million from the office. Similarly, there is an allegation of misappropriating Rs 0.141 million against Bishwakarma and Rs 9.583 million against Chaudhary.


A case has been filed against officer Gupta at the Special Court with allegations of corruption amounting to Rs 9.58 million. At the Special Court, six more cases against him are pending. In the cases filed in the last three years, he is accused of embezzling Rs 230.73 million.
