Govt staffers held for bribery

KATHMANDU, Feb 23: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Thursday arrested three staffers of the Land Revenue Office, Bhaktapur on the charge of taking bribe from service seekers.

KATHMANDU, Feb 23: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Thursday arrested three staffers of the Land Revenue Office, Bhaktapur on the charge of taking bribe from service seekers.

According to the CIAA, Rishiram Budhathoki, a nayab subba (clerk) was arrested on Wedensday evening while he was taking Rs 300,000 bribe. He was receiving the bribe for transferring ownership of a 13 ropani Guthi [turst] land to a private individual.


According to CIAA spokesperson Jeebaraj Koirala, office assistants Keshav Khatri and Bishnu Nisutu who were helping Budhathoki, were also arrested along with Budhathoki. All three were arrested from an eatery in Bhaktapur.
