SANKHUWASABHA, Sept 7: A team of Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has been sent to incident site of the Sankhuwasabha murder case. A total of six members of the same family were brutally murdered by unknown assailants on Sunday night. The dead bodies of the family members were found in different locations, around and outside their house.
According to SP Shyam Kunar Mahato, CIB Spokesperson, they are sending an investigation team to the incident at the earliest possible date. However, bad weather conditions have made the CIB team unable to reach the incident site. “It is likely that the team will reach the incident site today itself,” he said.
Sankhuwasabha mass murder accused remanded in judicial custody
According to DSP Lal Dhwaj Subedi, Chief of the District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha, the border checkpoints of the district have been sealed and further investigation is being carried out with the help of sniffer dogs since early Tuesday. A separate team of police personnel led by SP Bhim Dahal from Dharan is also investigating the incident site.
Preliminary police investigation has shown that a group of unidentified assailants used sharp weapons to murder 58-year-old Tej Bahadur Karki along with other five members of his family on Sunday night.
