Clash between two communities during Chhath: Eight injured, one in critical condition

BARA, Nov 12: A clash has erupted between Hindu and Muslim communities over the firing of firecrackers at Chhath festival in Inarwari of Kalaiya Sub-metropolis-25. Eight people, both Hindus and Muslims, have been injured in the clash and the condition of one of them is said to be critical.

BARA, Nov 12: A clash has erupted between Hindu and Muslim communities over the firing of firecrackers at Chhath festival in Inarwari of Kalaiya Sub-metropolis-25. Eight people, both Hindus and Muslims, have been injured in the clash and the condition of one of them is said to be critical.


Chief District Officer of Bara, Krishna Bahadur Katuwal, after a dispute over firing firecrackers and playing musical instruments during Chhath festival, four people each from both Hindu and Muslim community have been injured in the clash. The incident was brought under control with the help of security personnel, Katuwal said.

Among the injured are Radhe Shyam Patel, Suman Kalwar, Bolbum Keshari and Jit Lal Pandit while the condition of Radhe Shyam Patel is critical. He is undergoing treatment at the Neuro Hospital in Birgunj according to Rajeshwar Soni, Ward Chairman of Ward No. 25 of Kalaiya Sub-metropolitan.


Bara Superintendent of Police Dipendra Shahi said that the clash between the two communities in Inarwari was brought under control in time and additional security personnel have been deployed in the village to prevent further clashes between the two communities.
