JAJARKOT, Feb 25: Regular incidents of students falling unconscious while attending classes have affected the studies in a local school in Nalgad Municipality-8, Jikuwa of Jajarkot district.
Many students and teachers of Panchavaya Secondary School of Jikuwa have started fearing for their health after observing a number of students screaming, shivering, running and fainting on the school premises. The school's principal, Hum Prakash Singh, laments that there is no health organization nearby to identify the mysterious illness of the students.

According to him, it has been three days since the school has not been able to operate classes properly owing to the deteriorating health of the students. Narendra Kumar KC, a teacher at the same school, says especially the girls from third to eighth grades have been most affected by this problem.
So far, seven girls have fainted in their classrooms. KC informed Republica that Sushila Chadara of eighth grade, Janki Chadara of sixth grade, Niruta BK and Jamuna BK of fourth grade, Janaki Shahi, Ritu KC and Anita Khatri of third grade have fallen unconscious while attending classes.
However, they have not received any kind of treatment as there is no health organization nearby. Surprisingly, this is not the first time students of this school are facing such problem as more than 150 students suffered the same fate last year as well.
Meanwhile, Tek Bahadur Rawal, mayor of Nalgad, stated that he is unaware about the situation of the students. He assured to deploy health workers of the Primary Health Center, Dalli, for the treatment of the ill students.
