CM Pandey pledges to expedite reconstruction works of flood-hit Kagbeni

GANDAKI, Oct 4: Gandaki Province Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey has pledged to lend assistance to rebuild the flood-hit Kagbeni area of Waragung Muktichhetra Rural Municipality-4 in Mustang.


The area suffered significant damage from flooding on August 13.

During his visit to Kagbeni today, the Chief Minister pledged to collaborate with all levels of government to facilitate the reconstruction efforts in Kagbeni. He also said that cooperation from Nepal's development partners will be sought in this endeavor.


While inspecting the area, the Chief Minister assessed the extent of damage to physical infrastructure, including monasteries. He also said the Province government has increased plans and budget for the development of mountainous regions of the province including Mustang and Manang in the current fiscal year.


Chief Minister Pandey was accompanied by Gandaki Province Assembly members Yogesh Gauchan, Bikal Gauchan, Namdu Gurung, Bimala Gauchan and Province Policy and Planning Commission vice chair Krishna Chandra Devkota among other officials.
