CoAS Sharma urges army rank and file to prioritize greater interests of nation

KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS), Prabhu Ram Sharma, has urged army personnel to remain alert and not get swayed by petty interests of any faction aiming to disrupt stability through baseless and biased arguments.

KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS), Prabhu Ram Sharma, has urged army personnel to remain alert and not get swayed by petty interests of any faction aiming to disrupt stability through baseless and biased arguments.


In his address to the Nepali Army (NA) rank and file on the occasion of his completion of two years in office, the Army Chief advised the NA body to dedicate itself for serving the greater interests of the nation and Nepali.

"The NA since the commencement of Nepal's unification campaign has its role in protecting and promoting national sovereignty, territorial integrity, independence and national unity, by winning the people's confidence," he said. 


On the completion of two years in office, the CoAS laid wreaths on the 'Bir Smarak', the  memorial to the brave soldier, at Chhauni and Tundikhel.


He said the NA highly acknowledged the contribution of NA personnel who were injured on duty, wishing them speedy recovery. 


Meantime, the CoAS presented insignias to Kumar Babu Thapa who was promoted to the post of Major General and Sudarshan Bista, who was promoted to the post of Colonel amidst a special function organized at the NA Headquarters in Bhadrakali.
