Kathmandu-Terai Fast Track will be completed by 2026: Army Chief Sharma

KATHMANDU, Aug 5: The Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Prabhu Ram Sharma has stated that 36 percent of the work on the Kathmandu-Terai Madhesh Fast Track has been completed. CoAS Sharma also announced that the project will be finished by 2026, within the specified time frame.

KATHMANDU, Aug 5: The Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Prabhu Ram Sharma has stated that 36 percent of the work on the Kathmandu-Terai Madhesh Fast Track has been completed. CoAS Sharma also announced that the project will be finished by 2026, within the specified time frame.


Addressing the breakthrough occasion of the Dhedre Tunnel this morning, he said, “We have completed 36 percent of this project, and we will finish it within the specified time frame.”

According to him, the main challenge was constructing the tunnels, which is now complete. The remaining work will proceed according to the previously established schedule, he added. He further mentioned that they have successfully constructed the tunnel and will share their expertise with Nepali engineers. “This demonstrates that we are capable of constructing such structures,” he said.


He also said that land acquisition issues in Bungamati and Khokana in Lalitpur have been affected by political factors and should be resolved by politicians. Apart from these areas, land management in other locations has been resolved, he said. With these issues addressed, the project will be completed within the predetermined time frame, according to him.
