KATHMANDU, Dec 26: The Judicial Council (JC) has formed a committee to investigate the complaints of the judges. A meeting of the JC held on Sunday formed an inquiry committee regarding three district judges.
An inquiry committee has been formed as further investigation is required during the initial study of the complaints received in the JC.
JC forms panel to investigate judges
The committee will be tasked with studying the complaints lodged against District Court Judges Ambika Niraula, Parashuram Bhattarai, and Raj Kumar Koirala, submitting a comprehensive report.
The JC formed a three-member inquiry committee headed by Supreme Court (SC) Justice Ananda Mohan Bhattarai.
According to JC sources, the study of the complaints has started. It is said that some of the complaints filed against the judges are pending and some are under investigation.
According to the Judicial Council Act, a member of the JC or a committee of judges of the SC can make a recommendation for the dismissal of a judge under investigation.
