Committee probing Balkumari incident to record statement of Minister Jwala today

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: The high-level committee formed to investigate the Balkumari incident that took place on December 29, 2023, has called upon Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Prakash Jwala, to provide a statement.

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: The high-level committee formed to investigate the Balkumari incident that took place on December 29, 2023, has called upon Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Prakash Jwala, to provide a statement.


The incident involved a clash between EPS Korean language students and security personnel, resulting in the unfortunate death of two youths.

Following the tragic event, the government formed a high-level committee, headed by former High Court Judge Shekhar Paudel, to conduct a thorough investigation.


The committee comprises former AIG Arun BC and Joint Home Secretary Narayan Prasad Bhattarai.


Minister Jwala is expected to face inquiries regarding his presence at the location on the day of the protest.
