KATHMANDU, July 2: A concept paper of the independent candidacy campaign has been presented in the first National Special Meeting of Independent Candidates Campaign 2022.
The concept paper was presented by Dambar Sahu, Coordinator of the Independent Candidacy Campaign, at a meeting held in Sanepa, Lalitpur on Saturday.

Sahu has proposed to launch a Mission 165 targeting 165 constituencies of the House of Representatives through the independent organizations. In the concept paper, an 11-point criteria has been set for those who want to become independent candidates in the upcoming elections.
According to the criteria, a person above 68 years of age is barred from contesting election as an independent candidate. The person must have obtained formal education up to bachelor's degree and should disclose property details and make a police report public on the day of filing candidacy.
Similarly, those aspiring to field their independent candidacy should not be accused of corruption and not possess Permanent Residency or Green Card of other countries.
