SOLUKHUMBU, Dec 6: CPN (UML) leader and former constituent assembly ( CA) chair Subas Nembang has opined for not splitting the Province No 5.

Addressing the four-month public mobilization program organized by the CPN (UML) district committee, leader Nembang, who is also the deputy leader of the UML parliamentary party, further said that conspiracy was plotting to separate the hilly districts from Tarai in Province No 5 aimed at disintegrating the sovereignty of the nation.

He further claimed that the constitution amendment bill registered in the parliament was centered on splitting the Tarai districts in other provinces as well.

Leader Nembang said that the issues of amending the constitution were the only interest of some handful of Tarai-centric leader not of all the Tarai people.

He expressed surprise over the support the Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) were providing in such antinationalistic proposal.

In another context, leader Nembang said that the UML only could lead the nation uniting people from hill, mountains and Tarai. RSS
