Constitution amendment process in final stage: DPM Nidhi

JANAKPUR, Sept 24: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Bimalendra Nidhi on Saturday said that final efforts were underway to register a constitution amendment proposal at the parliament to address the demands of the agitating parties.

JANAKPUR, Sept 24: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Bimalendra Nidhi on Saturday said that final efforts were underway to register a constitution amendment proposal at the parliament to address the demands of the agitating parties.



Minister Nidhi said that the government has intensified efforts to implement the first point of the three-point deal reached between Nepali Congress (NC)-CPN (Maoist Center) and United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) i.e. amendment of the constitution.

“The ruling parties are busy in internal discussions as well are in talks with UDMF to amend the constitution,” Minister Nidhi said a function here, “Let’s hope, the process will conclude soon.”



He further said that his Ministry was in a constant touch with the Ministry of Law to scrap the cases filed during the Madhes protest.
