The reason for the postponement has not been disclosed. According to sources at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the next meeting has been rescheduled for March 31 at 11 AM.

The purpose of the meeting was to propose the appointment of a new Auditor General, a position that has been vacant for a prolonged period.

After Tanka Mani Sharma Dangal's term ended in June 2023, the position of Auditor General has been vacant.

The President appoints heads and office-bearers of the constitutional bodies, according to the recommendations from the Constitutional Council.
