NEPALGUNJ, Oct 13: Construction entrepreneurs in Nepalgunj hit the streets of Nepalgunj sub-metropolis in Banke district on Thursday, demanding justice for Sharad Kumar Gauchan, chairperson of the Federation of Contractors Association of Nepal (FCAN), who was shot dead in the capital in broad daylight last week.
The demonstration was organized by Banke chapter of FCAN. As part of the protest, a march started from Birendra Chowk in the morning and made its way through Surkhet road and finally transformed into a corner meeting at BP Chowk.

The protestors wore black bands around their arms and carried placards bearing various messages. They chanted slogans to condemn Gauchan's murder, demanding action against his murderers, and urging the authorities to 'establish peace and security in the country'.
FCAN's former vice-chairman Karna Malla and FCAN's Banke chapter chair Jitendra Hamal, among others, addressed the corner meeting. They warned that they might continue their protests until Gauchan's murderers are booked.
“Until the murderers are arrested, we will block the roads by piling up construction equipment on the streets,” said Hamal.
