Construction of Hetauda-Kathmandu road begins

KATHMANDU, August 9: The construction of the road section from Hetauda in Makwanpur to Kathmandu has started. The Province Capital Infrastructure Development Special Project under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development of Bagmati Province said that the road has been divided into two sections and the work has started after awarding a contract.


It is said that the road section is being worked on at an investment of Rs 750 million. According to the project, the road from Kulekhani to Dakshinkali is being divided into two sections and the work is being done through contract. The project stated that the 20 kilometers of Kulekhani-Sisneri-Chhaimale-Dakshinkali road between Hetauda and Kathmandu is being constructed at a cost of Rs 750 million.


Project Engineer Kiran Ranjit said that the construction of a 12.15 km road section from Jamire of Indrasarovar Rural Municipality in Makwanpur road section divided by the project has gained momentum.


The work on the Makwanpur road section has started with an agreement with Raman PR Triveni JV Mulpani, Kathmandu at a cost of Rs 434.116 million. Engineer Ranjit said that an agreement was reached so as to complete the work by September 9, 2024.

Similarly, Rauta Ramsagar JV Kathmandu is working after receiving the contract for eight kilometers in the Kathmandu road section at a cost of Rs 319 million. The project said that an agreement was reached with the construction company to complete the construction work within June 25, 2023.


Currently, cutting, constructing drains, blacktopping, constructing walls and widening the road by 10 meters are being done on both road sections.
