KATHMANDU, Jan 31: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Thursday caught Bholanath Chalise, a non-gazetted official of Kathmandu District Court, while he was taking a bribe from a service seeker.
Expanding CIAA’s jurisdiction still remains a Herculean task
A team of investigators deployed from the anti-graft body arrested Chalise from the Babarmahal-based forest office where he was was receiving Rs. 500,000 in bribe from the service seekers promising them to settle their case pending at the court.
CIAA Spokesperson Rameshwor Dangal said officials are investigating the case.
