Two people were tested positive for the virus when COVID-19 tests were conducted among 823 people who came into Nepal through the Gadda Chauki check post.

Nepal has been conducting COVID-19 tests to only those people experiencing the symptoms of COVID-19 in the health desk set up at the border points.

On an average, 700 to 1,000 people are entering Nepal via the southern border daily. Many Nepali nationals working in India are returning home after a second wave of COVID-19 hit various parts of India.

However, 305 Nepalis left for India through the Trinagar checkpoint and 150 from the Gaddachauki check post on Friday itself.
