MORANG, July 26: The government of Province 1 has launched their vaccination campaign against COVID-19. The vaccines were distributed to districts across the province on Saturday, Provincial Health Logistics Management center in Biratnagar informed Republica. The Provincial government announced to deliver vaccines to all the 14 districts in the Province by Monday.
According to Sabbu Shah, Chief of the Province Health Logistics Management Center, vaccines were sent to all the 14 districts on Saturday. Following the delivery, the vaccines will be administered to the local residents by Monday. The vaccines were from the Ministry of Health and Population on Friday, Shah said.

As many as 169,000 doses of Vero Cell and 240,000 doses of Johnson and Johnson (J&J) vaccines were sent to Province 1. The J&J vaccine will be administered after Vero Cell doses have depleted, Shah said. Vero Cell vaccines were delivered in districts including Sunsari, Udayapur, Jhapa, Ilam, and Panchthar on Sunday.
Likewise, Vero Cell will be administered to people above the age of 54 whereas the J&J will be distributed to people above the age of 50 in the Province.
