CPC leader Li Zhanshu arrives in Nepal

KATHMANDU, Sept 12: The third highest ranking leader of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), Li Zhansu, arrived in Nepal on Monday.

KATHMANDU, Sept 12: The third highest ranking leader of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), Li Zhansu, arrived in Nepal on Monday.


He arrived in Nepal at the invitation of Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal Agni Prasad Sapkota for a four-day official visit. Speaker Sapkota and officials of the Federal Parliament and Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed Li Zhanshu, who came on a visit with a delegation of 67 people from a Chinese special plane.

Agni Prasad Sapkota and Li Zhanshu will hold delegation-level bilateral talks today itself. During his stay in Nepal, Li Zhanshu will pay courtesy calls on President Bidya Devi Bhandari on September 14 and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on September 13.


On the same day, he will meet with the Chairperson of the National Assembly, Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, and Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Narayan Khadka will pay a courtesy call on Li Zhanshu.


Similarly, KP Sharma Oli, former Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN-UML, and Pushpa Kamal Dahal, former Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) will also hold separate meetings with Li Zhanshu on September 13.
