SIRAHA, August 26: The much-anticipated Secretariat meeting of CPN-UML originally planned for Saturday in Siraha has been rescheduled to August 30 due to inclement weather conditions.
Chandeshwar Mandal, the District Chairman of CPN-UML, cited continuous rainfall as the reason behind the meeting's postponement. The initial plan was for UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli to convene in Biratnagar on Saturday to partake in the meeting.
National Assembly meeting postponed for six days
"The inclement weather posed a challenge in reaching the meeting venue as rivers on the way to the venue had swelled due to the ongoing heavy rainfall. Following consultations with the party chairman, the decision was taken to defer the meeting," Mandal explained.
The CPN-UML had initially set the dates for a secretariat meeting in Surrey Ambas spanning from Saturday to August 30. Surrey Ambas is a significant locale for the party, having hosted its fourth convention back in 2046 BS. During this convention, the renowned Madan Bhandari was elected as the General Secretary, a pivotal milestone in the party's history.
