Cricket Carnival: Seminar on challenges and opportunities in Nepali Cricket

KATHMANDU, Jan 21: The first edition of Cricket Carnival hosted by cricket department of Madan Bhandari Sports Academy concluded on Saturday in Tribhuvan University (TU) ground, Kirtipur.

KATHMANDU, Jan 21: The first edition of Cricket Carnival hosted by cricket department of Madan Bhandari Sports Academy concluded on Saturday in Tribhuvan University (TU) ground, Kirtipur. It successfully hosted the first-ever celebrity cricket match, talent hunts, music concerts, photo exhibition, lucky draws, sports fair, media interaction, and discussion programs on Nepali cricket.


President Bidya Devi Bhandari inaugurated the event on Saturday.

Captain of the national cricket team Paras Khadka was honored with the first-ever ‘Madan Bhandari Cricket Award’. President Bhandari handed a cricket ball to Khadka as a symbol of opening of the festival, which was followed by an exhibition celebrity match. 


In the seminar on challenges and opportunities in Nepali cricket on Friday, a host of guests graced the podium to share their thoughts: from journalist Ujjwal Acharya to former national cricket team captains Lekh Bahadur Chhetri and Binod Das to current head coach Jagat Tamatta.
