KATHMANDU, July 6: Cricketers Naresh Budhayer and Sushan Bhari have got opportunities to play club cricket in Canada and England respectively.
Both Naresh and Sushan are set to leave for their respective destinations on Wednesday.
Cricket Players Association of Nepal (CPAN) arranged the opportunities for Naresh and Sushan, according to Paras Khadka, general secretary of CPAN.
Nepali national team's right-handed batsman Naresh will play for Bloomfield Cricket Academy in Maplewood, Toronto, Canada for four months till the end of October. Bloomfield plays first division matches.
Nepali team's consultant coach Pubudu Dassanayake, who is currently associated with the club, also took major initiative to provide the opportunity to Naresh.
Naresh recently play List A match (50-over) against Namibia in the ICC World Cricket League Championship held in Nepal in April.
Similarly, left-armed spinner Sushan, who played U-19 matches for Nepal, will feature for Falmouth Cricket Club, Cornwall in England. Sushan will spend three months till the end of September in England. The club plays Cornwall Cricket League in the country.
Paras informed that the clubs will bear all the lodging, food and travel expenses for the players.
Meanwhile, Paras said that players will get international exposure and experience while playing for the clubs having best facilities.
“This is a good opportunities for the players to groom themselves by learning skills in the clubs. The exposure and experience with the clubs will certainly be helpful for Nepali team as well,” said Paras. He also added that cricketing facilities and structures in both Canada and England are the best.
Paras said that players could get even better opportunities in their respective destinations if they perform well.
“Other clubs can also approach them if they give their best performances for the clubs and can get even better facilities,” Paras added.
