KATHMANDU, Aug 13: After a hiatus of seven days, executive chairperson of the ruling Nepal Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal and another chairperson of the party and prime Minister KP Sharma Oli held a meeting at the latter's official residence in Baluwatar on Thursday morning.
The meeting comes a day after Oli told a television interview that the ongoing intra-party rift in the NCP will be settled down within five days. However, it was immediately not known what exactly they discussed in today's meeting.
Amid squabbling within the party, the two top leaders of the NCP had met last week to resolve disputes. However, they failed to make any headway.

The NCP's Standing Committee meeting which was first called for June 24 has been deferred for the seventh time owing to factional feud in the ruling party.
The Standing Committee meeting which was supposed to be convened on July 28 was postponed indefinitely after PM Oli unilaterally decided to cancel the meeting.
The faction led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been exerting pressure on chairperson Oli, who is also the prime minister, to step down from power while Oli has been refusing to do so.
Earlier last month, Oli had accused Dahal of hatching conspiracies to topple the government at the behest of external forces.
On the other hand, the Dahal faction has been suggesting to Prime Minister Oli to relinquish power accusing the government of failing to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.
