Daraz Nepal hosts fifth successful seller summit, awards outstanding achievers

KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Daraz Nepal, Nepal's leading online marketplace, hosted its fifth annual Seller Summit on December 20th at the Heritage Garden in Sanepa on Thursday. With the tagline, “Empowering Sellers, Celebrating Success,” the event aimed at honoring and celebrating the dedicated sellers who form the backbone of the Daraz platform.

KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Daraz Nepal, Nepal's leading online marketplace, hosted its fifth annual Seller Summit on December 20th at the Heritage Garden in Sanepa on Thursday. With the tagline, “Empowering Sellers, Celebrating Success,” the event aimed at honoring and celebrating the dedicated sellers who form the backbone of the Daraz platform.


Addressing the event, Aanchal Kunwar, Managing Director of Daraz Nepal, acknowledged the pivotal role of sellers in Daraz's journey. “We’ve stayed committed to enhancing the seller experience, along with focusing on customer experience and expanding our logistics,” she said.


Daraz's Chief Operations Officer, Bimal Aryal, highlighted the importance of e-commerce during the event. Offering a comprehensive overview, he provided participants with detailed insights into Daraz's expansive network, encompassing 108 delivery locations, delivery capacity, and other key logistical aspects. Similarly, Praveen Rukshan, Commercial Director, offered insights into the collaborative strategies that have been instrumental in driving the platform's growth.


The highlight of the evening was the recognition and awarding of 14 well-performing sellers who have excelled in their endeavors on the Daraz platform. They were awarded with Daraz Vouchers worth Rs. 10,000 and category-specific trophies, which served as a testament to their dedication, innovation, and commitment to providing exceptional products and services.


The Daraz Seller Summit category awards recognized outstanding achievements in various categories. Cetaphil secured the Top Seller position in the FMCG category, while Titan Official claimed the Top Seller spot in the Fashion category. In the Electronics category, Xiaomi (Vatsal Impex) emerged as the Top Seller, and Protein Nepal attained the same accolade in the Lifestyle category. Sazuna Jewellers received the People's Choice Award, Computech was honored with the Performance Excellence Award, ZUVARA earned the Manai Dekhi Nepali Award, and IEC was bestowed with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. These awards celebrated excellence and noteworthy contributions across different sectors within the Daraz Seller community.

Similarly, the Seller of the Year Award was presented to Ultima Lifestyle, the Top New SME Seller Award to Birat Healthcare Industries, Free Delivery Legend Award to Pebbles Nepal, ELP Excellence Award to Aafno Pasal, Flash Sales Champion Award to E Mela, and Most Active Seller Award to Unilever.


Daraz Nepal has a community of over 19,000 active sellers that offer an extensive range of over 1.7 million goods and services, contributing significantly to the diversity of the online marketplace. The Seller Summit served as a platform to recognize and appreciate these sellers' contributions and foster a sense of unity within the Daraz community.


Daraz Nepal remains committed to supporting and empowering its sellers, providing them with the tools and opportunities needed to thrive in the e-commerce landscape.
