KATHMANDU,
Daya Foundation has launched a ‘cultural video contest-Newari edition’ amidst a special function on Monday. The event was inaugurated by Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeevan Ram Shrestha. The contest launched on the auspicious occasion of Indra Jatra is focused on celebrating newari culture, heritage, tradition and values for the youths of all abilities capturing the cultural roots and heritage through their own lenses.
Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF) 2021 kicks off
The contestant must present a three minute long video based on the topics chosen. The first round of selection will begin on October 1, 2022 at 6 pm via zoom meeting and the selected participants from the first round should send their videos by December 31, 2022 to [email protected]. The winners will be announced on January 15, 2023.
Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Shrestha, Chairman of Daya Foundation Rajesh Bahadur Pradhan, Ambassador of Egypt to Nepal Noha Hamdy Ahmed Elgebaly, and Chairman of Ward No. 18 Kathmandu Metropolitan City Nhuchche Kaji Maharjan, Chairman of KMC- 22 Chinikaji Maharjan and representatives of various renowned institutions were among those present at the event.
Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Shrestha said that such a program affirms our identity and creates a comprehensive framework for the preservation and promotion of our tradition and culture. While stating that this type of innovative program should be organized in the future as well, he also congratulated Daya Foundation for initiating such a commendable opportunity for youths.
