Dead body of a police constable stuck in Dharan following landslides for six days

KHOTANG, July 15: Family members have not been able to bring the dead body of a police constable to his hometown Halesi Tuwachung Khotang, who was killed during an exchange of fire with outlawed NCP cadres on Wednesday in Bhojpur.

KHOTANG, July 15: Family members have not been able to bring the dead body of a police constable to his hometown Halesi Tuwachung Khotang, who was killed during an exchange of fire with outlawed NCP cadres on Wednesday in Bhojpur.


The dead body of police constable Sanjiv Rai has remained stuck in Dharan due to obstruction of the road to his home following the landslide triggered by incessant rainfall, according to his relative Desh Kumar Rai. "Hundreds of vehicles have been stranded on Harkapur-Jayaram and Katar-Ghurmi road sections due to landslides. So, we are not able to bring the dead body to his home" Rai said.

The body was airlifted to Dharan and conducted postmortem later on Wednesday. The police authorities have said that they are being unable to send the dead body of police constable to his home due to poor weather amid heavy rainfalls.


The deceased is survived with his wife and two sons.
