Body of missing farmer found

MANANG, Jan 3: A 53-year old, Aachyong Gurung aka Aajung Lata, who went missing for four days due to heavy snowfall has been found dead on Sunday, according to the District Police Office, Manang.

MANANG, Jan 3: A 53-year old, Aachyong Gurung aka Aajung Lata, who went missing for four days due to heavy snowfall has been found dead on Sunday, according to the District Police Office, Manang.


The body of Gurung, who went missing for the past four days, was found covered in snow in the forest above the village, according to the police team deployed from Dharapani Border Police Post. Deputy Superintendent of Police Subash Khadka said that the police patrol team found the body covered in snow at Flamero forest above Odar village in Naso Rural Municipality-4.

Gurung had gone missing on Wednesday afternoon while returning from a sheepfold above the village. Police had been searching for the missing Gurung since Wednesday, but rescue efforts were hampered by snow. Gurung's body has been taken to the district hospital in Besishahar of Lamjung for autopsy.
