KATHMANDU, OCT 18: The number of passengers killed in a jeep accident in Bajhang has reached seven. A total of 18 people were injured in the accident that took place Wednesday afternoon in the district.
According to the District Police Office, Bajhang, the ill-fated jeep with registration number Su Pa Pra 01-001 met with an accident at Chiuri of Masta Rural Municipality-4 of Bajhang district. The passenger jeep was traveling from the district headquarter Chainpur to Khetkot of Masta Rural Municipality-2. The vehicle fell 500 meters off the road and stuck in the cliff.

Bajhang Police Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police Jageswor Bhandari said six passengers died on spot while another one died while undergoing treatment. Most of the injured are getting treatment at the district hospital, while one is in critical stage. Majority of the injured are women and children.
The deceased have been identified as Samjhana Khadka-13, Roshan Khadka-15, Basanti Dhami-28, Prachanda Khadka-13, Birendra Adhikari-38, Dakshita Kathayat at her seven months of age from Khetkot of Masta Rural Municipality-2 and Jharendra Bohora-42 from Shuklaphata Municipality of Kanchanpur.
Amrit Khadka at his eight years’ of age, Roshani Dhami-13, Singhbir Budha, jeep driver Rajesh Rokaya-35, Sirjan Singh-4, Ambika Singh-11, Sinki Devi Bhandari-50, Kamala Kathayat-25, Ninda Okheda-21 and Bir Bahadur Khadka-75 from Masta Rural Municipality-2 are among those injured in the accident. Santosh Singh-36, Ishwor Okheda-22, Anish Okheda, Ankit Khadka-10, Simran Singh-4 and Hemanti Singh-22 from Masta Rural Municipality-1 are also among those injured in the accident.
