Myagdi landslide: Death toll reaches five (Update)

MYAGDI, August 2: The bodies of three more people who were missing in a landslide have been found in Tameng village of Rum, Malika Rural Municipality-2, Myagdi. With this, the death toll in the landslide has reached five. The deceased belong to the same family. Two people were injured in the landslide.

MYAGDI, August 2: The bodies of three more people who were missing in a landslide have been found in Tameng village of Rum, Malika Rural Municipality-2, Myagdi. With this, the death toll in the landslide has reached five. The deceased belong to the same family. Two people were injured in the landslide.


The bodies of two of the dead were found in the morning. Police said that the bodies of the remaining three missing people were found in the afternoon. The family of Gham Bahadur BK, 37, from Taming was affected by the landslide.

According to the police, the bodies of Gham Bahadur along with his wife Rammaya BK and daughter Rosie BK were found in the afternoon. The bodies of Gham Bahadur's sons Navin and Rujan BK were found in the morning.


The family went missing after two houses were swept away by a landslide at around 3AM on Tuesday. Ward member Bhakta Bahadur Pun said that the dead bodies of three members of the same family were found.


Preparations are being made to send Gothe and Gori BK, who were injured in the landslide, to Darwang for further treatment.
