Departmental teams win in opening day

KATHMANDU, Feb 14: Departmental teams Nepal Police Club and Tribhuvan Army Club made winning starts in the Second Pathibhara National Men's Open Volleyball that kicked off on Tuesday in Taplejung.

KATHMANDU, Feb 14: Departmental teams Nepal Police Club and Tribhuvan Army Club made winning starts in the Second Pathibhara National Men's Open Volleyball that kicked off on Tuesday in Taplejung.



In the opening match, Police registered a straight set win of 25-18, 25-13, 25-14 over Eastern Region. Similarly, Army also pulled similar fashion win over Central Region.



Army recorded 25-10, 25-17, 25-10 win over Central Region.



The tournament to conclude on February 18 is the highest cash prized event in the country.



The winner and the runner up teams will bag purse of Rs 330,000 and Rs 165,000 respectively.



Similarly, the third and fourth placed finishers will have share in equal amount of Rs 35,000 each.
