KATHMANDU, May 30: A new study report has revealed that men with diabetes have a high risk of health problems compared to women.
According to the researchers of The University of Sydney, Australia, the health problems related to heart, legs, kidney and eyes caused due to diabetes prevail higher in men.
A total of 25,713 individuals participated in the study. All of the participants were above 45 years of age and were the victims of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. During this study, health problems caused by diabetes were kept under surveillance for 10 years.

According to the study, stroke and heart failure with cardiovascular complication were found in 44 percent of men while 31 percent of women were at risk of those diseases.
According to the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health which published the study conducted by the University of Sydney, 25 percent of men were found suffering from problems related to legs due to diabetes while 18 percent of women were suffering from the same kind of problems. Similarly, 35 percent of men were found to have kidney problems whereas 25 percent of women were facing this problem.
According to the study, men with diabetes had 71 percent higher risk of cardiac problems than women.
According to the study, 57 percent of men were suffering from eye problems whereas 61 percent of women were suffering from the same problems.
