KANCHANPUR, Oct. 6: A Dalit settlement at Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality-3 in Saptari district has been affected due to diarrhoea outbreak.
The Sakarpura Dalit settlement in the rural municipality which was severely affected from the last month's flooding was affected from the diarrhoea outbreak for the past some days.
Call for action against murderers
So far, 70 plus members of the community have suffered from the diarrhoea. Of the affected, the condition of Manoj Mandal and his spouse Gita is serious.
A local resident and Senior Assistant Health Worker Gunjeshwor Yadav of Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmath Zonal Hospital said that the couple has been sent to Biratnagar for further treatment after the preliminary treatment in the village.
However, the District Public Health Office said that its interventions have been initiated from Thursday onwards. Chief of the Office Gyan Bahadur Basnet said that a health camp was also conducted by sending required human resources after the reports of diarrhoea outbreak.
According to Basnet, nearly 90 persons of the settlement are receiving treatment and the disease is likely to contain from further spreading.(RSS)
